Eating local is one of the best ways to practice eating seasonally and sustainably! Lucky for Chico residents we have a variety of local Farmers’ Markets to choose from. Depending on your busy schedule check out one of the following:
Wednesdays, North Valley Plaza Mall, adjacent to Trader Joe’s from 7:30 am-12 pm
Wednesdays, from 2-6pm, on the corner of West 16th and Chestnut streets.
Thursday Night Market, April-Sept, 6-9pm on Broadway from 2nd to 5th St.
Saturdays, year round, from 7am-1pm in the parking lot between 2nd and Wall St.
If you can’t make it out to one of the Chico Farmers’ Markets, try looking into getting a CSA box. Chico is home to a variety of local farms that will put together boxes of fresh produce called Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). Some farms will schedule pick up times out at their farms while other programs provide a drop off service directly to your front door! Try Googling “CSA Chico” today for more information!
