Our Services
We firmly believe that health care should be about choices and options. For that reason, we offer two different types of treatment programs at Chico Spine & Wellness.
Relief Care
General Chiropractic Care over a period of 2-4 weeks designed to provide relief of symptoms and improve the flexibility and mobility of spinal joints. Relief care does not provide long-standing correction to spinal problems and posture; however, it is often a viable alternative to drugs, at times even surgery, and can be used for pain relief related to structural, postural or extremity joint problems.
Corrective Care
Spinal rehabilitative program designed to improve or correct underlying spinal structural problems and abnormal posture. This is a more comprehensive approach, and often results in more permanent change with long term relief and lasting benefits. Objective measures are used to gauge the patient’s progress toward normal; therefore, the patient always knows when they are corrected, or as near normal as possible.
THE STEPS OF CORRECTIVE CARE
- 1. Initial Visit
After completing a thorough examination, a postural and sometimes x-ray analysis are preformed. This is a critical component of the initial office visit, and it helps determine if the patient is a candidate for the chiropractic care offered at Chico Spine & Wellness. - 2. Exercise
Specific exercises are prescribed to the patient to facilitate structural correction and to retrain the muscles supporting the body. Critical to the protocol of care, these specific exercises are part of the overall structural rehabilitation program. - 3. Adjustment
These are types of adjustments where a patient is stressed in the opposite position as compared to their abnormal posture / x-ray and a force is applied to the spine or pelvis with the assistance of a drop table mechanism. Unlike traditional Chiropractic adjustments which only improve joint flexibility, corrective chiropractic adjustments are designed to change the spinal position and posture. - 4. Goals
Our goal is to get to the root of the cause and return the spine to a healthy, stable position. Returning the spine to ideal, or as near as possible, provides a long term solution for even those chronic, difficult cases. Through these achievements, we can provide change that is lasting, if not permanent.
